A (now) overused famous saying I hear from hubby on a daily basis is the title for my first post. That's what I'm doing--saying hi, and getting into some new lifestyle changes, or "getting rowdy" (as we say 'round here.) I'm from a small town in central Virginia. I live on the banks of a creek. I have a husband and two kids. I love food. And I love incorporating nature into more than just my scenic window views. I run an active Etsy shop called Cabin Creek Apothecary where I sell herbal medicinals and natural body care products. I have a deep affection for nature and plants; animals...not so much. I prefer to eat them. Okay, now that I've offended all the animal lovers, let me move on...
I started this blog for a few reasons. Mainly to start tracking and logging my progress and eating habits on a program called Rapid Fat Loss by Lyle McDonald, and to share with the world what I'm doing to lose fat, eat well (meaning low/no carb), and incorporate healthful, natural, homemade items into my life. Now, I know that this diet can be controversial, and upfront, I'm not here to sell you on it, convince you of it, or listen to you deride me for it. If you don't like what I've got going on here, move along; there are plenty of other homes on the internet for you.
What you can expect from me and my blog:
1. Honesty. I'm upfront and won't be mincing words. I intend for this to be an intimate view into my world.
2. Progress stats about my weight loss and dietary habits.
3. Recipes of the low/no carb variety. I love to cook!
4. Useful, at-home projects and ideas for ways to incorporate new, natural stuff into your life. Like what? Like how to make and use tinctures, medicinal herbs, kombucha, and maybe even craft ideas.
5. Insight into my life. Not everyday is great, not every day is bad. Expect both.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I think we can move on to the "working" phase of the blog. Check back soon for more posts!
Love it and looking forward to following you along this journey :) Blogging is so much fun, I really get mine rolling more during the summer when I have more time.
ReplyDeleteNeat! I'm interested in following your progress and perhaps stealing a few recipes for use in my kitchen!
